AIIMS, BBSR inks MoU to execute BSKY

To provide treatment under the Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana (BSKY), the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Bhubaneswar signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Health Department here on Tuesday.

Health and Family Welfare Minister Naba Kishore Das, Secretary Dr Pramod Kumar Meherda and AIIMS, Bhubaneswar Director Dr Gitanjali B were present at the MoU signing ceremony held at the State Secretariat.

It was revealed that 189 private hospitals have been enlisted to provide treatment under the BSKY.

The Minister also held discussions with officials of different private hospitals on implementation of BSKY by them and directed them to ensure that no poor patient returns from their hospitals without getting treatment under the State-run scheme.

The Minister also asked them to provide a report each month detailing about numbers of patients admitted to their respective hospitals directly or through CDMO references and the regions to which the patients came from. He also directed the DMET to make payment to the private hospitals for treatment of patients under the BSKY as soon as possible.

A decision was taken for establishment of the Odisha Cancer Care Foundation and its first meeting to be held on July 15.
