The State administration will undertake an anti-encroachment drive once again from September 3 to rid the areas of encroachments where they have been done after the previous anti-encroachment drive conducted on the orders of the high court.
The additional chief secretary Om Prakash informed that on the directions of the high court, the Mussoorie Dehradun Development Authority (MDDA), Municipal Corporation of Dehradun (MCD) and the district administration had in the past demolished encroachments from footpaths, public roads, streets and other sites.
However, complaints are being received from the general public about encroachments being made again at various places. Considering this, an anti-encroachment drive will be undertaken from September 3 more efficiently than in the past.
The additional chief secretary appealed to the owners of buildings encroaching on Government buildings, to remove the encroachments themselves.
