Bhubaneswar MP Aparajita Sarangi on Monday visited Niladri Nagar under Jharpada Mouza here and held discussions with the residents about various problems in the locality.
Sarangi went around the area and found that due to lack of roads, electricity and sewerage system the people have a harrowing time.
Niladri Nagar Welfare Trust president Gorachand Mangaraj said that the trust has been demanding declaring the area as a yellow zone, but in vain.
Later, a meeting was organised where Sarangi listened to the problems of the trust and assured that she would present the demands before the State Government.
Among others, trust secretary Purshotam Paikray, BJP leader Jagannath Pradhan, former Basuaghai Panchayat Sarpanch Kailash Jena, Shiv Prasad Mishra, Sukant Acharya, PK Padhy and Sashi Bhusan Mahapatra were present.
