The Election Commission of India (ECI) on Thursday organized video conferencing for district election officials of nine districts providing them information related to the use of the booth App. The commission asked the polling workers to be more convenient in using this App.

Voters through this App and token number can know about the serial number order making convenient for them to exercise their franchise. The booth app will be used in ten assembly constituencies of these nine districts in Jamshedpur-West, Jamshedpur-East, Chaibasa (ST), Ramgarh, Hazaribagh, Ranchi, Deoghar (SC), Gandey, Bokaro and Jharia respectively. Chief Electoral Officer Vinay Kumar Choubey and Additional Chief Electoral Officers Kripanand Jha and Shailesh Kumar Chaurasia were also present on the occasion. Photo voter slips with QR codes will be distributed to voters through booth level officer (BLO). When voters come to the polling booth with this voter slip to use the franchise, the BLO will scan the QR code of the photo voter slip.

Voters can have information related to election and they will be provided with QTN code. Voters can exercise their franchise in a convenient way through QTN. Voter can also download photo voter slip from the Voters Helpline app. Proper arrangements are also being made for the sitting of voters in polling stations. SVEEP activities are being run for maximum number of voters to use their franchise in assembly elections. During the video conferencing by the Election Commission of India, it was directed that voters should be made aware about the use of the booth app under SVEEP programmes.

The EC officials claimed that information of polling percentage in polling stations will be available in real time on this day of polling. It will also be easy to know how many male and how many female voters have used the franchise. This app is also unique in that through this, the updated information related to voting in real time on the day of polling will be available on the dash board of Election Officer (RO), District Election Officer (DEO) and Chief Electoral Officer (CEO).

The Booth App can easily identify voters in polling stations. This app will prove to be very effective in conducting fair and transparent elections. Its use is also quite simple and convenient. In such a situation, make people aware to use it more and more.
