ARDSI BBSR Chapter launched

Wednesday, 11 September 2019 | PNS | PURI

A Bhubaneswar Chapter of the Alzheimer’s and Related Disorders Society of India (ARDSI) was launched here on Monday.

It is the 21st chapter of the ARDSI in the country. It will be managed by the Silver Age Foundation for Elders.

The ARDSI was set up in 1992 and works to create a dementia-literate and dementia-friendly society where a person with dementia can live with dignity and honour. It is India’s leading organisation on dementia and Alzheimer’s disease.

Notably, most affected people with dementia are senior citizens.

The Alzheimer’s disease accounts for 60 per cent to 80 per cent of dementia cases.
