Athletics Academy bags 35 medals in Reliance Foundation Youth Sports Athletic Championship

State Athletics Academy players showcased impressive performance in the Reliance Foundation Youth Sports Athletic Championship by bagging 35 medals in different events.

The championship was played at the TT Nagar Stadium from October 18 to 20. Seven players were felicitated with the 'Best Athlete' award.

These players include Neetika Akre in the junior junior girls 600 meter race and Bushra Khan Gauri in the 800 meter race, Avinash Kumar in the junior boys' leg jump, Martina Lakra in the senior girls' leg jump, Shivam Sikarwar in the senior boys' 100 meter race, college group in the 200 meters. Emmanuel Paul and Mandeep Kaur in 800 meters. These players achieved the trophy of the best athlete by scoring the highest score in their respective events.

Medal winners met Director Sports and Youth Welfare SL Thoussen. He encouraged  the players and congratulated them too. He discussed with each player and was informed about the event and the performance in it and encouraged the players to practice regularly.

On this occasion, the Chief Instructor of the Academy, S.K. Prasad, Amit Gautam, Shipra Christ,  Anupama Srivastava and Virendra Kumar were also present.

Meanwhile, Academy players won 28 medals in state level wrestling competition including 15 gold, 8 silver and 5 bronze medals.

In the 65th state level wrestling competition being played at the Martial Arts Hall at Nagar Stadium, the academy players performed brilliantly and won 28 medals including 15 gold, 8 silver and 5 bronze. Minister of Sports and Youth Welfare Jeetu Patwari and Director Sports and Youth Welfare SL Thoussen congratulated and praised the players' performance.

Pooja Rana, Anushka Shivhare, Sara Haq, Madhuri Patel, Aradhana Gaur, Chhaya Patel, Priyanshi Prajapat, Varsha Pandey, Priyanka Yadav, Himanshi Punjabi, Harshita Pal and Bhagyashree Rathore earned one gold each in the girls' section of the competition. Rekha Jat won silver and Juhi Singh received bronze.

Similarly, in boys category, Hariom Puri, Saurabh Parmar and Yash Yadav won one gold medal each, Nirmal Patel, Krishna Yadav, Ram Anuj Tomar, Mohan Parmar, Shailendra Yadav, Ansh Baghel and Shikhar Mishra one silver each and Priyanshu Chauhan, Himanshu Jat, Ajay Yadav and Shubham Yadav earned one bronze each.
