According to party sources, since last two days, Chief Minister, AICC general secretary and state in-charge P L Punia, state Congress party president Mohan Markam, cabinet ministers and other senior leaders had a marathon parleys for finalisation of tickets that started on Wednesday morning and continued till the wee hours of Thursday.

Baghel held discussion for two-three hours with leaders during afternoon hours but reached the party headquarters during evening hours and stayed for whole night. Party sources said, Chief Minister returned at around 3.45 AM. Later he arrived again on Thursday. The party then released the list of candidates for various civic bodies during evening hours.
