Chhattisgarh’s Congress government is all set to unlock development projects as the model code of conduct (MCC) for the Lok Sabha was lifted on Sunday following the declaration of election results.
"The Model Code of Conduct has ceased to be in operation with immediate effect," said a release from the Election Commission.
The MCC for the general elections had come into force on March 10 with the announcement of the schedule for the seven-phased parliamentary polls. Meanwhile, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel while talking to media persons here at Raipur’s Swami Vivekanand airport on Sunday evening upon his return from Delhi, expressed his apprehension on state of affairs going on in the country.
He said “diversity is our identity and unity in diversity is our strength. There are so many languages, cultures, communities in our country but this diversity is our strength, Narendra Modi had attacked on it and this unity is severely hit with the formation of the BJP government at the Centre’’. Rs Rs Election was fought on religious patriotism issue and country’s military was projected as an army of Modi which was very shocking and disturbing,’’ Baghel alleged.
