Baripada MPC College bags NSS Award

The Maharaja Purna Chandra (Autonomous) College at Baripada has been conferred with the prestigious National Service Scheme (NSS) Award 2017-18.

The educational institution bagged the award for having one of the best NSS units in the country. President Ram Nath Kovind presented a trophy and a cash award of Rs 1,00,000 to MPC College Principal Jharana Behera at a ceremony held at the Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi on Tuesday.

Besides, the college’s NSS Programme Officer Kailash Chandra Mishra was conferred with a silver medal, a certificate and a cash award of Rs 70,000.

Notably, the Union Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Department of Youth Affairs every year confers the National Service Scheme Award to recognise and reward outstanding contributions towards voluntary community service made by the universities Senior Secondary (+2) Councils, NSS Units, Programme Officers and NSS Volunteers.
