Barnwal for strict action against babus delaying payments

Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Sunil Kumar Barnwal, on Tuesday, took cognisance on the complaints of delay in payments of pension, compensation, honorarium, wages, sum insured and Government schemes during the weekly review of Jansamvad Kendra and said that strict action will be taken against those who kept the matter pending or show negligence or apathy.

On the complaint of nonpayment of wage (Rs 72,000) of Banwari Oraon for the forest related work in Palamu in 2012-13. On this, the Principal Secretary ordered immediate removal of Vinay Kumar Das Nodal Officer of Palamu and instructed to issue show-cause along with form 'A'. 

Abhash Kumar of Godda died in Road accident but compensation was not paid to the families of deceased so far. On this Barnwal ordered show-cause to Niyaz Ahmed Nodal officer Godda. He also instructed to ensure payment of compensation within a week.

The house of Shankar Pandit of Deogarh caught fire on March 25, 2017, which caused him loss of lakhs of rupees but so far he has not been paid compensation. On this the Principle Secretary ordered to ensure payment of compensation within a week and also take action against the culprit officers.

Barnwal directed the Nodal officers of Giridih and Hazaribag to ensure payment to farmers who lost their crop due to wild elephant in the years 2018. The victims include Saryu Prashad, Dular Chand Mahto, Jageshwar Mahto, Taleshwar Mahto.

In the matter of pending payment of 430 personnel including Praveen Kumar Mandal of Deoghar working in the post of conception worker in veterinary hospital, the Principle Secretary instructed the Nodal officer to ensure payment within a week.

Barnwal ordered to provide family of 8-year-old Tanvi Kumari, who is suffering from cardiovascular disease, assistance amount under the Chief Minister's funds within a week.

After the death of retired Sukra Uraon in March 2011 from the driver's office in Planning and Finance department, Ranchi, his dependent wife is not given benefit of pension till now. In another matter, Jagdih Sharma, working as peon in rural development department of Eastern-Singhbhum died during service in November 2016, his dependent wife Shakuntala Devi has not been paid pension so far. On this the Principle Secretary instructed to start payment within a week.

In the review meeting, Additional Secretary Ramakant Singh, AIG to DGP Shams Tabrez, Joint Secretary Manohar Marandi and others were present.
