With a view to exploit the potential of employment in the agricultural sector, a Skill Development Directorate will be set up in the interest of the unemployed youths of the State at Birsa Agriculture University (BAU). In this center, emphasis will be on imparting training on various crops, processing, value addition and marketing techniques.
Vice Chancellor of BAU, RS Kuril, asked the senior university officials to empower the various cells in the interest of the students and the university personnel. At the same time set up several new cells to smooth functioning of the university, he added.
Kuril told that about 1500 students are studying in the university. “The University will soon establish placement cell for the students studying in colleges of Agriculture, Forestry, Veterinary and Animal Husbandry, Dairy Technology, Fishery Science, Garden Science, Agricultural Engineering, Biotechnology, Agriculture Business Management. Under this cell, the students of the University will have the essence and the simple arrangement of all the procedures for appointment to different government and non-governmental agencies at the same place,” he added.
“The University has already established the Women’s Complaint Cell, Employee Grievances Cell and ST, SC and OBC Assemblies Council Cell will be strengthened. At the outside of all the cell, purpose, the name of the control officer, the process of complaint and work time should be mentioned,” said Kuril.
In another major initiative Kuril announced that the University sales the agricultural products itself produced by various units of the University in which buyers have to face a lot of trouble. “An outlet for the sale of all agricultural products produced by the University will be established where seed, fruits, ornamental plant material, organic and bacterial compost, animal products and other materials will be available for sale,” he added.
