Beat watcher reportedly killed by tiger in Corbett

A tiger is reported to have killed a daily wager beat watcher in Corbett national park on Tuesday. A native of Matela village in Almora district, Bishan Ram was patrolling with his colleagues in the Khinanauli range of Corbett in the morning. Suddenly, a tiger reportedly came out of the bushes and attacking him, carried him away. Ram’s colleagues made noise in an attempt to free him from the tiger’s clutches but did not succeed.

They then informed the senior officials about the incident after which the Corbett warden Shivraj Chandra along with workers reached the site. The search for the body continued for hours before it was found during the evening in the bushes not far from where the attack took place. It is being stated that a portion of the right leg had been eaten. The family members of the deceased had been informed a report had been lodged in the Kalagarh police station.
