Culture minister Amajeet Bhagat on Tuesday called for creating a roadmap to develop Chhattisgarh’s film industry into a brand of its own.
Dr JS Virid member secretary state planning commission gave a detailed presentation before the minister about development of film city and film promotion policy adopted by Chhattisgarh. He also informed the minister about different kinds of grants provided by different states across India for developing film industry in their respective state.
The minister asked officials to come up with a concept document after holding discussions with various stakeholders so that Chhollywood (Chhattisgarh film industry) could be established as a brand.
The minister who also holds the portfolio of planning, finance and statistics also inquired about various key indicators related to the district-wise performance of different subjects taught in schools in Chhattisgarh.
Officials appraised the minister about various indicators identified by planning commission to identify the subject-wise weak performing district in the school education.
To this, the minister expressed the need for implementation of IT, training of teachers and recruiting of teachers required fo improving weak subjects at district level.
Member of planning commission Dr K Subramanyam, advisor to the Chief Minister Pradeep Sharma, Special Secretary R Prasanna and other members of planning commission also took part in the meeting.
