BHEL celebrates Ambedkar’s 128th birth anniv with great zeal

BHEL, Bhopal, on Sunday celebrated the 128th birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Bhimrao Babasaheb Ambedkar with great zeal & fervour.

The programme began with garlanding of the statue by DK Thakur, Executive Director, BHEL, Bhopal. On this occasion, M Isadore, General Manager (HR), all GMs, YU Patil, Ravindra Aind, Officials of SC/ST Welfare Association, various union representatives and a large number of township residents were present. BHEL, Bhopal’s Joint Schedule Caste & Schedule Tribes Employees Welfare Association held the entire programme. The working committee members comprising MK Bhagat, AK Mahour, JP Kadope, MK Mandrai, Suresh Kumar, Ram Harsh Patel and RK Kachi were also present in the programme.

Thakur, in his address, said that ‘Babasaheb dedicated his life for the development of the nation & the society. He was a legend who made significant contribution in building a new India. He possessed extraordinary vision & was incredibly talented.

Babasaheb wished to bring about a revolutionary change in the society. He wanted all round development of the nation with equal opportunity to all. Babasaheb dreamt of building a powerful India who could lead the universe. He wanted the citizen of this country to be socially, financially and politically skilled. He considered India to be the land of abundant resources & the most skilled people. Apart from drafting the constitution of the country, Ambedkar scripted the noble theme of social equality’.

Thakur requested the gathering to take inspiration from the life of Ambedkar & resolute to work selflessly for the development of the nation. Isadore, in his address, said that Babashaeb was a ‘Yug Purush’. He believed the prevailing social discrimination to be the major hindrance in the development of the nation. Babasaheb said that the nation would be free in true spirit only when a social system based on equality is established in the society.

Buddha Vandana was also performed along with felicitation of the meritorious students by Thakur.
