A team of officials will study the master plan of Amravati, the capital of Andhra Pradesh for the planning of Bhopal Capital Area. While making Bhopal's master plan, the Bhopal Capital Area should be kept in mind. A working group should be made in the department for the development of Bhopal. The group must comprise experts also. Urban Development and Housing Minister Jaivardhan Singh and Public Relations Department, Science and Technology Minister PC Sharma stated this during a discussion with officials and experts in connection with the development of Bhopal.
In the meeting, Rajya Sabha MP Digvijay Singh said that while making the master plan, the catchment area of the Upper Lake should be planned in such a way that water flow in the lake continues uninterruptedly.
Also, people living in this area should be made partners in development also. Action should be taken to include city colonies in the Municipal Corporation. There should be a competent authority for the development of Bhopal. There should be a single window system. A place for the street vendors should also be fixed in the master plan.
It was decided in the meeting that more trees should be planted than the number of felled trees during the development works. Special care should be taken so that Bhopal's greenery is not affected. Special schemes should be made for the development of slums.
Sehore Sugar Mill and BHEL's vacant land should be used for other industries. Land should be reserved for other industries including Satellite Town, Education Hub, Food Park, Logistic Hub, Sports City, Tourism, etc. Discussion should be held with people who have set up other industries including garment factories and they should be encouraged. Arrangements should be made to remove encroachments near coaching in MP Nagar and for their rehabilitation.
Place for lodging of labourers coming from villages to Bhopal should be fixed. Principal Secretary Urban Administration and Development Sanjay Dubey gave information of the preparations of Bhopal Master Plan. Commissioner Housing Board Smt. Carolyne Khongwar Deshmukh and Director Town and Village Investment Rahul Jain also gave information of various points.
MLA Arif Masood, District Panchayat President Manmohan Nagar besides other public representatives and subject experts gave important suggestions in the meeting.
