Bhopal police auctions 510 vehicles, earns good revenue

Bhopal police have auctioned 510 vehicles which were seized under section 25 of the Police Act and collected revenue of Rs 13,73,800 from the auctions conducted across the police stations of State Capital.

On Tuesday, 27 vehicles were auctioned by Bairagarh, Shahjehanbad, Gautam Nagar and Koh-e-Fiza police stations and earned Rs 86,000.

In the process of auction of vehicles at police stations in State Capital, a total of 806 vehicles seized under 25 police act would be auctioned and which include both two wheelers and four wheelers.

Till date 510 vehicles have been auctioned and it would be continued to dispose vehicles seized.

The SDM, Tehsildar play important role in the process and make the auction easier for the buyers to complete the disposal process within specified time and with proper documentation.

Addl SP Zone 4  Dinesh Kumar Kaushal who headed the drive which started from November 14 this year and till date over 500 vehicles were auctioned. From the start of the drive auction was conducted at Nehru Nagar police lines and other police stations of the state capital.

After the auction of 510 vehicles there are around 300 remaining vehicles would be auctioned in the drive later.  

The process of auction was started after vehicles were identified for auction and on the instructions of DIG Bhopal Irshad Wali the auction was conducted for vehicles seized under section 25 Police Act and vehicles seized under 41 (1-4) CrPC and 102 CrPC and disposal of liquor seized under 34 Excise Act.
