Bhupesh Baghel feels ‘justice done’ in Hyderabad encounter

Saturday, 07 December 2019 | Staff Reporter | RAIPUR

nChhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Friday said "justice has been done". He made the comment after all the four accused in the Hyderabad rape-and-murder case were killed in a police encounter.

The four accused in the last month's rape-and-murder case of a 25-year-old woman veterinarian were killed in an exchange of fire with police near Hyderabad on Friday morning.

"I have got information that the four accused were killed in an encounter. If any accused tries to escape (from police custody) in this way, then police don't have any other option," Baghel said while talking to reporters at the airport here.

"I can say that justice has been done (in the case)," he added.

Notably, the Hyderabad rape-murder accused were killed when they were taken to the site of the offence for reconstruction of the scene of the crime as part of the   investigation.

Meanwhile, Member of Parliament from Korba seat Jyotsna Mahant has also supported the Hyderabad encounter. She wrote, “bravo Telangana police, the villains of Hyderabad have paid for their sins. God has punished them for their offence. I demand of the government that such horrid criminals should face swift action.”
