The BJD undertook various social activities, including a Jeevan Bindu camp, to mark the 74th birthday of its president and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik here on Wednesday.
Leaders and workers offered earthen lamps at the Shree Ganesh Temple at Hillapatra seeking long life for Patnaik. MP Chandra Sekhar Sahu, MLAs Bikram Panda and Dr Pradeep Panigrahi, former MLA Dr Ramesh Chandra Chyaupatnaik, former BDA Chairman Subash Moharana, former Corporators Danda Pani Nayak, Durga Prasad Panda and Sangamitra Dalei were present, among others.
A blood donation camp under the Jeevan Bindu programme was held at the Town Hall under the guidance of MLA Panda.
MP Sahu inaugurated the camp. A total of 618 units of blood were collected from the camp.
In the afternoon, a meeting was organised to covey birthday wishes to the Chief Minister.
Meals and dresses were distributed to students and Balashram inmates on the occasion.
