BJP alleges Cong of encouraging political corruption

Sunday, 13 October 2019 | PNS | Ranchi

State BJP Spokersperson Pratul Shahdeo today asked State Congress to make clear the price on which Congress senior leaders had sold seats during Lok Sabha elections. He also asked whether the Congress once again is going to give seats to those who pay the maximum amount in the upcoming Assembly elections.

Pratul was reacting to the statement given by JPCC executive president Irfan Ansari during a press conference at Bokaro circuit house, where the latter had said that Dr Ajoy Kumar had sold all the seats during Lok Sabha elections. The State BJP Spokesperson said that it is purely a matter of political corruption.

“If Irfan Ansari was aware that seats were being sold and he did not reveal the truth at that time, then he is also guilty of corruption. Horse trading in politics is in the culture and history of Congress. Irfan should clear how much he wished to pay for Godda seat, where his father was trying to contest elections on Congress ticket and Dr Ajoy Kumar did not give ticket to him. Irfan has said that all seats were sold and this is a direct allegation of political corruption on Chaibasa MP Geeta Koda and she should immediately resign. Congress should lodge cases of corruption against ticket sellers and ticket buyers, but the party is neck deep in corruption and this issue will also be ignored by the party,” he said.
