BJP asks Baghel govt. to respect democratic institutions

Monday, 17 June 2019 | Staff Reporter | RAIPUR

Chhattisgarh BJP working committee adopted a resolution at its meeting here on Sunday and asked the Congress government in the state to respect democratic institutions.

The resolution strongly advised the Baghel government to do away with politics of vengeance and instead concentrate on serving the people.

``If aspirations of     people are not fulfilled then BJP will not hesitate to take to streets in the larger   interests of people,’’ said the resolution proposed by   senior BJP leader and       former minister Brijmohan Agrawal. The resolution was seconded by former minister and tribal leader Kedar Kashyap.

The resolution heaped praise on party cadres for showing a tremendous amount of fight back in the general elections in which party bagged nine out of the total 11 Lok Sabha seats.

The resolution also appreciated the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP national president Amit Shah for steering party to a splendid victory in 2019 Lok Sabha polls.

It further stated that Congress has failed to live up to people’s expectations after it returned to power in late last year in state assembly polls in Chhattisgarh. The resolution asked the Congress government to focus on serving people rather than targeting      political opponents.

The BJP resolution claimed that insecurity and chaos prevails in state under Congress regime which was evident of killing of party’s legislator Bheema Mandavi from Dantewada seat in a Naxal attack in run up to parliamentary polls in April.

The BJP resolution has slammed the Congress government for half-heartedly executing its prime poll promise of farm loan waiver.
