Bharatiya Janata Party’s Uttar Pradesh unit president Swatantra Dev Singh said that all party candidates whose names were announced on Sunday for the by-elections would file their nomination papers with fanfare on Monday.
“Party’s parliamentarians, legislators, in-charge ministers and senior party leaders will accompany the candidates during nomination. This will be a grand show which will be led by minister in-charge of the district concerned,” the BJP state president said in a written statement issued here on Sunday.
Monday is the last date for filing nomination for the bye-elections. Polling will be on October 21 and counting of votes will be taken up on October 24.
Swatantra Dev Singh and Deputy Chief Minister Dinesh Sharma will accompany Suresh Tiwari for filing his nomination papers in Lucknow. Urban Development Minister Ashutosh Tandon and party state general secretary Vidyasagar Sonkar will also be present there.
In Saharanpur, state Agriculture Minister Surya Pratap Shahi, Minister of State Ashok Katariya and Dharam Singh Saini will be present when Kirat Singh files his nomination from Gangoh.
In Rampur, Cabinet minister Swami Prasad Maurya will accompany Bharat Bhushan Gupta for filing the nomination papers while Laxmi Narayan Chaudhary, Cane Minister Suresh Rana and party vice-president Purshotam Khandelwal will accompany Raj Kumar Sahyogi during filing of nomination papers for Iglas seat in Aligarh.
Industries Development Minister Satish Mahana and state Aviation Minister Nand Gopal Gupta ‘Nandi’ will accompany Surendra Maithani for filing nomination papers for Govind Nagar seat in Kanpur.
Jal Shakti Minister Dr Mahendra will be present in Chitrakoot during filing of nomination by Anand Shukla for Manikpur seat.
Power Minister Shrikant Sharma will be present in Barabanki during filing of nomination by Ambrish Rawat for Zaidpur seat while Union Minister Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti will accompany Rajesh Singh for filing nomination papers for Jalalpur seat in Ambedkar Nagar district.
Co-operative Minister Mukut Bihari Verma will take part in Saroj Sonkar’s procession for filing nomination from Balha in Bahraich while Forest Minister Dara Singh Chauhan will accompany Vijay Rajbhar for filing nomination for Ghosi seat.
