BJP flays govt for ‘rising crime’ after chemical attack on cine artiste

Sunday, 17 November 2019 | Staff Reporter | RAIPUR

nReacting to the chemical attack on a budding cine artiste of Chhattisgarh at Bhilai on Saturday, the BJP alleged that morale of criminals is high in the state as the state government has failed to maintain law and order.

BJP state spokesperson Sachchidanand Upasane said loot, murder, dacoity and    other heinous crimes are   reported practically every hour and the state home minister miserably failed to check    them. The     chemical attack has been    reported in the home town of home minister itself, he added.

Upasane said Chhattisgarh was known as island of peace but now it has been shattered by ever increasing incidents of crime  creating a sense of fear among the residents. He urged Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel to take stern action against the  criminals.

The gravity of the situation can be gauged from the fact that when in state capital in front of public a businessman had to cough up Rs 26 lakh, Congress workers createes ruckus inside the police station, he said.  Atrocities against women too are on the rise, says BJP spokesperson. Winning awards is easy but maintaining law and order is a tough task, said BJP leader taking dig at the Home Minister, who was recently awarded as one of best performing ministers at the national level.
