BJP organisational poll process to start from Sept 11

Thursday, 29 August 2019 | PNS | Dehradun

The Bharatiya Janata Party national election officer and former Union minister Radha Mohan Singh said that at present the membership of the BJP has increased to more than 14 crore in the nation. The organisational election process in the state will start on September 11. Before that, organisational election workshops will be held in each district on September 2-3. Singh said this while speaking as the chief guest at the organisational election workshop held at the BJP state office here on Wednesday.

Addressing the gathering of party workers, he said that in the previous membership campaign, the party had inducted about 10 crore members.  As per the party constitution, the membership number has to be increased by a minimum of 20 per cent this time. The party has succeeded in making four crore new members. Now, the register of the new members and the register of active members are being prepared. He further said that organisational election workshops will be held in each district of the state on September 2 and 3. From September 11 to 30, the election of booth heads and committee members will be held whereas the election of Mandal head and booth Mandal committee will be held from October 11 to 31. After this, the election of district head and state council will be held from November 11 to 30 while the election of the party’s state president and national council members will be held from December 1 to 15. Singh said, “The BJP is the only party in the nation in which elections are held for posts ranging from the booth level to that of the national president. There is no dynastic politics or individualism. The 1,700 other parties registered with the election commission hold organisational elections only on paper. The ideal and aim of all our party members is the same which is why we don’t have difference of opinion. This is the reason why there has been no division in the BJP whereas several divisions have taken place in the Congress, communist and other parties,” he said.

Singh also said that the historical step taken by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP government to abrogate article 370 and 35A from Jammu and Kashmir has been welcomed across the nation. To bring further clarity on this issue in the public, the BJP will undertake a campaign across the nation from September 1 to 30, he added. The party’s state election officer Balwant Singh Bhauriyal, state vice president Jyoti Prasad Gairola, general secretary Rajendra Bhandari and other office bearers of the party were also present in the workshop.
