BJP to begin maha jansampark abhiyan

Wednesday, 23 January 2019 | PNS | Chandigarh

To reach out to the voters of Jind assembly constituency ahead of bypoll, the ruling Bharatiya Janta Party in Haryana will carry out Maha Jansampark Abhiyan on January 24.

The Jind bypoll are scheduled to be held on January 28 and the counting of votes will be held on January 31.

Pulling out all stops to wrest the Jind assembly seat, the BJP will cover all 174 booths in the assembly segment during its Maha Jansampark Abhiyan on January 24. For this purpose, different teams of the party have been constituted.

“The party workers will conduct a door-to-door campaign on January 24 under Maha Jansampark Abhiyan. All 174 booths in the assembly segment will be covered under the campaign,” said Anil Jain, senior BJP leader and party’s incharge for Haryana affairs.

Jain said that the party workers will apprize the people about the achievements of BJP led Central and State Governments. Several welfare schemes have been launched by the BJP during its tenure, he added.

About party’s opponents in the bypoll, Jain said that other political parties could not even find a candidate for the bypoll. And, the Congress had to field a sitting MLA, he said.

The BJP leader added that the party is confident of its victory in the Jind bypoll.

On the ongoing battle between INLD and JJP, Jain said that INLD is fighting its own family and has nothing to do with the interests of the people of Haryana.

The keenly watched Jind bypoll is witnessing a three-cornered electoral battle, with the Congress’ sitting MLA Randeep Singh Surjewala, Jannayak Janta Party’s Digvijay Chautala and BJP’s Krishan Middha, son of late INLD MLA Hari Chand Middha, in the fray.

Aware of the fact that a favorable bypoll outcome for a political party will send out a bigger message ahead of 2019 general election, the BJP is leaving no stone unturned to woo the voters of Jind.

In 2014 assembly polls, INLD’s Harichand Middha had won with 31,631 votes and defeated BJP candidate Surinder Barwala with a small margin 2,257 votes.

The bye-election to Jind assembly seat was necessitated following the demise of Hari Chand Middha in August. INLD’s Hari Chand Middha had represented the Jind seat for two consecutive terms in 2009 and 2014.

The  assembly segment has more than 1.7 lakh voters including over 1.07 lakh urban voters and nearly 62,500 living in villages.
