BJP will win all 7 seats: Nirmala

Saturday, 11 May 2019 | Staff Reporter | NEW DELHI

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ended the last phase of campaigning with demonstration on sealing, pension to DISCOM employee, air pollution, and water related issues in colonies through roadshow and jansabhas in Delhi on Friday.

Union Defence Minister and Delhi State Election in charge Nirmala Sitharaman said the enthusiasm of BJP workers and the general public on the last day shows that BJP is going to win all the seven seats in Delhi.

Delhi BJP president, sitting Member of Parliament (MP) from North East Delhi and Lok Sabha candidate Manoj Tiwari said that only BJP has worked tirelessly to resolve sealing issue.

Echoing amendments in Master Plan by Delhi Development Authority (DDA) to provide relief to traders’ community, Tiwari said that the Congress and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) both have politicised sealing issue but did nothing.

“BJP Government had made changes in MPD 2021 to increase the Floor Area Ratio (FAR) of the Local Shopping Complex and given them 100 per cent commercial use permission, these changes provide some relief to traders,” Tiwari said.

Targeting AAP, Leader of Opposition (LoP) in Delhi Assembly, Vijender Gupta said that Delhi Government has enhanced the fixed charges on electricity Bills by a huge 6 times, in a span of just one year from 2018, from Rs 20 to Rs 125 per connection , which has severely impacted the low and middle class customers, who often uses minimum amount of electricity.

“In the year 2002, the AAP Government and DISCOMS established the “Pension Trust Fund” for the purpose of disbursing pension to the employee. However, the current Delhi Government has disbanded that fund and started penalising the customers by collecting the 3.8 per cent of electricity bill as pension fund from the customers, perhaps to benefit the DISCOMS,” said Gupta

Dr. Harsh Vardhan, Chandni Chowk, answered hundreds of questions of the voters for an hour through tweeter Chaupal in Sindhora Kalan village. Delhi will vote on May 12.
