Some BJYM members on Saturday stormed into the public meeting of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel shouting: Modi Zindabad.
The CM, however, pragmatically handled the situation asking the police to let the protesters stay rather than forcibly evicting them from the meeting’s venue.
Baghel then shouted ‘Chowkidar’ and the crowd, getting the cue, immediately responded with ‘Chor hai’.
The BJYM members then left the venue.
Reacting over the incident, BJP state spokesperson Shrichand Sundarani said that Chief Minister failed to understand the gravity of the post he is holding.
“If he (CM Bhupesh Baghle) thinks that by shouting slogans like ‘Chowkidar Chor hai’ residents of Chhattisgarh could be persuaded to vote for Congress then he is wrong,” Sundarani said.
The way Congress party had deceived farmers in Chhattisgarh in the name of waving off their loans, people would certainly give it a befitting reply in the coming elections, he added.
