Boat tragedy: Now, ex-gratia from PMRF

Financial assistance from Prime Minister Relief Fund [PMRF] would be given to the kin of the 10 deceased in the Nipania river boat tragedy on January 2. In this connection, the Prime Minister Office (PMO) has asked the Jagatsinghpur district Collector to furnish details of deceased persons and injured members.

According to District Emergency Officer Manorama Jali, the PMO has directed to give details of identity of the deceased persons with their legal heirs and those injured in this boat tragedy. After verification Rs 2 lakh would be given to the each deceased kin and Rs 50,000 to those who sustained injury from PMRF.

Earlier, the Odisha Government has given Rs 4 lakh ex gratia to each deceased families from CMRFand free medical aids to the injured one.

The boat tragedy had claimed 10 lives of Hasina village under Kujanga block.
