Boy drowns taking swimming lessons

A teenage boy drowned in the swimming pool of a posh club here on Tuesday. He was identified as Sambit Sahu.

According to reports, Sambit had gone to the recreational facility to take swimming lessons during this summer vacation. While practising swimming, he slipped into deep water and could not return to safety.

He was rescued and rushed to the Capital Hospital in an unconscious state. Doctors declared him dead. Sambit’s family members alleged negligence on part of the club authorities as the mishap took place in spite of the presence of a swimming trainer.
