Justice BP Das, a former judge of the Orissa High Court, has been appointed as Chairman of the Odisha Human Rights Commission (OHRC), official sources said on Thursday.
Besides, advocate Asim Amitabh Dash has been appointed as a new Member of the OHRC. The appointments of both have received the approval of Governor Prof Ganeshi Lal.
The post of Chairman of the OHRC was vacant since November 23, 2012. Justice Raghubir Dash had been officiating as the commission’s Acting Chairman with effect from May 16, 2019.
