BPCL appoints hockey player Vivek as executive officer

Vivek Sagar, a talented international player of Madhya Pradesh State Men's Hockey Academy, has been appointed as Executive Officer Group-'A 'by Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL).

Vivek Sagar After reaching the city stadium today, Director Sports and Youth Welfare Dr. Sl Visit Thousen and apprise him about the appointment made by BPCL.

Sports Director SL Thousen congratulated Vivek Sagar on wishing him a bright future. He said that talented players can make a better career in sports.

The Director of Sports thanked BPCL for the appointment of Vivek Sagar and thanked him. Hockey instructor Shri Lokendra Sharma was also present on the occasion.

Vivek Sagar said that he will participate in the India Camp held in Bangalore from September 1 to 22. It is worth mentioning that Vivek Sagar represented the Indian team in the Japan Test Series held in Tokyo Japan from 17 to 21 August 2019, giving the country a gold medal.

Notably, Vivek Sagar, son of a teacher born in middle class family in village Shivanagar Chandoun of Itarsi tehsil of Hoshangabad district, won the Four Nations tournament in the year 2018, Commonwealth Games, Champions Trophy, Youth Olympics, New Zealand Test Series, Asian Games and Azlan Shah Hockey in 2019. Indian tees in international competitions such as tournaments, oste-tia test series and final series Bhubaneswar Be represented.

Vivek Sagar was also awarded the Best Scorer in Youth Olympics and the Best Junior Player Award in the Final Series Bhubaneswar. Midfielder hockey player Vivek, who was included in the Indian team that won India a bronze medal at the Asiad 2018, has played 42 international matches, which has been awarded the Eklavya Award by the Madhya Pradesh government in the year 2018.

Meanwhile, Three day state level weightlifting championship was inaugurated on Wednesday at TT Nagar Stadium.

State level weightlifting competition is being organized by the Department of Sports and Youth Welfare. This competition is being held at the TT Nagar  Stadium.

Director Sports and Youth Welfare SL Thoussen said that for the first time, the state level weightlifting competition was organized by the Sports Department. The martial arts are being organized at the city stadium. About 200 players and officials will participate in the competition. This competition will be played in youth and junior boys and girls category.
