A 42-year old dhaba owner allegedly murdered his 15- year-old son, 12-year-old daughter and then ended his life. The gory incident took place in Noor  Nagar area on Monday. Preliminary investigation has revealed that Sunder Pal, who ran a dhaba to earn his livelihood, had suffered losses.

According to police, Sundar Pal, who lived in Noor Nagar area  was running a dhaba in Manali (Himachal Pradesh). “He was under financial stress as it was off season in Manali and tourist traffic has almost dried up there. He was with his father who is a retired gardener from Ghaziabad Municipal Corporation,” said the police official.    “On Monday at about 11:00 pm Sundar Pal’s wife Shashi along with their son Naman went to first floor bedroom while  their second son Tushar (15) and daughter Mahi (12) remained on the ground floor room.  “Till late night he was seen well playing with the children.  His father Bhagwan Dass who had woken up to relieve himself, saw Sunder Pal hanging from the ceiling fan of his bedroom. The two children were lying on dead,” said the police official.

“A call was received regarding the incident at 3:30 am following which a team rushed to the spot. Bodies were sent to hospital.  During search, police found a 15-page note purportedly written by Sunder Pal. The note contained statement of his bank account. The concluding part reflected huge loss in the business.  He had mentioned that he was suffering  losses in his dhaba business. He tried to compensate the loss by driving cabs but could not tide over it.  He was forced  return to his father’s house in Ghaziabad. Where, he committed suicide after killing to children,” said the police official.   “It seems he administered some poisonous substance in the ice cream and gave it to Tushar and Mahi.
