BSL officials hold justice march

Thursday, 18 July 2019 | PNS | Bokaro

Hundreds of Bokaro Steel Plant (BSL) officials took-out a rally under the banner of Bokaro Steel Officers’ Association protesting against Bokaro MLA Viranchi Narayan, who along with his supporters, allegedly thrashed BSL AGM Ajit Kumar on Tuesday.

Later, the BSL officials met with Deputy Commissioner Bokaro K N Jha and Superintendent of Police P Murugun and demanded immediate action.

On Tuesday, the MLA, along with his supporters, allegedly thrashed Kumar who got multiple injuries and was admitted to Bokaro General Hospital (BGH). Kumar sustained injuries in his right eye, head and in the other parts of the body too, hospital authority informed.

Kumar alleged that, MLA Viranchi Narayan and his supporters beat him black and blue when he asked to stop an ongoing illegal land work at Sector 1 park. Without getting NOC from BSL management, the MLA was engaged in illegal land work, he alleged.

According to the BSL officials, Kumar rushed to spot and asked to stop the work as the land belongs to BSL and they have not taken No Objection Certificate (NOC) form the plant management.

On the NOC issue MLA first engaged in verbal clash with Kumar later it took ugly look and MLA along with his supporters started thrashing Kumar. When Kumar tried to escape, MLA and his supporters ran behind him and again thrashed Kumar badly, he said.

We have lodged a complaint against MLA at City Police station, informed A K Singh President of Bokaro Steel Officers’ Association.

This is heinous act done by MLA and his supporters. MLA is elected representative and he should behave properly, said Singh. “If MLA has some issue then he could have talked to senior BSL officers,” he added.

Denying the allegation, MLA Viranchi Narayan said I was defending Kumar. He alleged that BSL officials are involved in several corruptions.

I will ask for CBI investigation against management. Speaking to the media persons MLA also threatened to file a defamation case of Rs 2 Crore against A K Singh (the president of the association) otherwise he will have to give me a written apologies.

“I am not a goon. I am a public representative, I won the electoral battle with a highest number of votes not only in Jharkhand but in the surrounding three states too,” added the MLA
