Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) launched 4G services for the Jharkhand zone in a grand ceremony held at ARTTC on June 19.The event was inaugurated by the Chief General Manager (CGM) of BSNL Jharkhand KK Thakur.
First and foremost, a ribbon- cutting ceremony unveiled the 4G core-equipment (IMS & SGSN) set up in the zonal office. Following this, the 4G service was tested wherein the CGM used his 4G phone to call up a BSNL official in Gumla. The Internet speed was also found to be high.
On the occasion, K. K. Thakur, BSNL CGM; Sujit Kumar, General Manager (Mobile) and Ramashray Prasad, General Manager (Marketing) jointly said that BSNL has always been committed to enhancing the experience of our customers by using new facilities and technologies in the field of mobile services.
Presently, 4G services have been started for the urban areas of Gumla while for areas like Simdega, Lohardaga, Latehar, Palamu and Garhwa; services will start in a phased manner this month.
