Monsoon Session of the Chhattisgarh State Assembly will commence from Friday. On day one, obituary references will be made to pay homage to martyred BJP MLA from Dantewada Bhima Mandavi and others.
On April 9, 2019, Mandavi, along with three personal security officers and his driver were killed in a Maoist attack.
There will be no Session on July 13 and 14, being Saturday and Sunday. The Session will be resumed on July 15 and will continue till July 19.
As per official sources, the supplementary budget of estimated Rs 5,000 crore will be tabled. Additional budgetary allocation for the announcements made during the period, allocation for urban bodies will be made in the context to upcoming civic bodies’ election in the state in the month of November-December 2019. The Panchayat level election is also schedule this year.
The Opposition BJP will be raising issue related to Naxal incidents including death of its MLA Bhima Mandavi among others.
The Congress led Government will be countering the issues of opposition while it will also be tabling more than six bills and amendments. Janta Congress Chhattisgarh (J) is planning to move a no-confidence motion against the Government in this Session.
