The Uttarakhand cabinet thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for publicising the beauty, adventure and wealth of wildlife in the Corbett national park across the world through the episode of Man Vs Wild. Cabinet minister and State Government spokesman Madan Kaushik said this while addressing the media after the cabinet meeting held at the Chief Minister’s residence on Tuesday morning.

He said that tourists from across the world will arrive in Corbett for its beauty and excitement while wildlife enthusiasts will also be attracted to this place. This will bring a different kind of fame to Uttarakhand while at the same time, people living around Corbett will also get employment opportunities. The Prime Minister has had special affection for Uttarakhand. After the 2013 disaster when the Char Dham Yatra was off the tracks, after becoming the Prime Minister, Modi visited the Badrinath and Kedarnath shrine which restored the confidence of the pilgrims. Participating in the International Day of Yoga programme in Uttarakhand last year, the PM projected Uttarakhand as the land of Yoga to the whole world. Similarly, in the investors summit held in Dehradun last year, the Prime Minister invited the investors from across the nation and abroad to invest in the state. He helped increase the interest of investors in Uttarakhand due to which MoUs worth about Rs 1.24 lakh crore were signed. Apart from this, the cabinet also thanked the Prime Minister for enacting a law against instant triple Talaq to provide relief to Muslim women and abrogation of Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir to boost development there. In addition to this, the successful launch of Chandrayaan -2 is a big leap and a great achievement of the nation in the field of space science.
