Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is one of the most sought after leaders for campaigning for the October 21 elections in Maharashtra and Haryana and the bypolls in Uttar Pradesh, with the party’s state office in Lucknow flooded with requests for time from him.
“The schedule of Yogi is almost ready. We have received requests (for campaigning by Yogi) from almost every district unit of Maharashtra and Haryana. But we cannot meet all the requests,” a senior BJP leader said.
The Chief Minister has already addressed a couple of election meetings in Maharashtra and joined the Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar at the time of filing nomination papers.
Yogi Adityanath will campaign in Maharashtra on Thursday and is expected to address at least three election meetings. In Maharashtra, he will campaign in the Hindi belt and at other places where north Indians are in majority.
On Friday, Yogi Adityanath will go to Haryana for campaigning and will address rallies for two days. On Sunday and Monday, he will go to campaign in Maharashtra again.
Meanwhile, Yogi Adityanath will be campaigning in 11 bypoll-bound Assembly constituencies in UP for three days, on October 15, 16 and 18.
According to sources, Yogi Adityanath will cover four Assembly constituencies of UP in a day starting from Govindnagar in Kanpur. On October 15, after Kanpur, he will address an election meeting at Manikpur in Chitrakoot district, Pratapgarh and lastly in Lucknow Cantonment constituency.
On October 16, Yogi Adityanath will address the first bypoll meeting at Zaidpur in Barabanki district, followed by Jalalpur in Ambedkarnagar district, Balha in Bahraich and Ghosi in Mau district.
The BJP star campaigner will first address an election rally in Gangoh Assembly constituency in Saharanpur district, then at Iglas in Aligarh district and later in Rampur Assembly constituency on the last day of his campaigning in UP on October 18.
Polling at the 11 Assembly constituencies going to bypolls would be held on October 21 along with Maharashtra and Haryana.
