State Cabinet minister and winner of Giridih Lok Sabha seat of AJSU on Friday, Chandra Prakash Chaudhary thanked the people of the Giridih parliamentary constituency who, he said, voted for the “farsighted leadership” of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
“The AJSU Party under Sudesh Mahto and BJP under the leadership of its president Amit Shah and PM Modi has reached new heights. I would like to thank the voters of Giridih and Bokaro ,” he told media persons at Giridih BJP office here. He also thanked AJSU and BJP leaders and its workers for the party's performance.
The Jharkhand minister and AJSU Party candidate Chandraprakash Chaudhary won the Giridih seat by 2,36,425 votes over his nearest JMM rival Jagarnath Mahto.
In Giridih parliamentary consituency,15 candidates were in fray but the main contest was between JMM leader Jagarnath Mahto, the Mahagathbandhan candidate and AJSU candidate Chandra Prakash Chaudhary, who was being branded at an outsider by his rivals as he hails from Ramgarh. In 2014 elections Jagarnath Mahto had lost by Ravindra Pandey of BJP by 39,000votes though it led in 3 out of 4 assembly segments.
