Chhattisgarh’s votes count first trend after 9 am

Subrat Sahoo, Chief Electoral Officer, Chhattisgarh said the counting in all the 27 centres of the state will commence at 8.00 am on Thursday for the 11 Parliamentary constituencies.

The first trend of votes count in Chhattisgarh is expected to be available after 9 am.

Addressing media persons on Wednesday, he said in all the 27 centres around 5,184 counting employees and 1500 micro-observers have been deployed.

For Lok Sabha Polls 2019 around 41,197 personnel were issued postal ballot out of which 22,901 have been received. Similarly, 17,223 registered service electors through ETPBS were sent online postal ballot out of which 10,803 ballot papers have been obtained.

He pointed out that for assembly-wise counting total 14 tables will be used. But after permission from Election Commission of India additional tables have been allocated for Pandariya and Kawardha in Kabirdham district, Raigarh, Sarangarh and Kharsia in Raigarh district, Bhilaigarh, Kasdol and Baloda Bazar for Baloda Bazar district where 21 tables will be used.

Sahoo said counting of postal ballot papers will be done in the first 30 minutes. In case if counting is incomplete, then as per new directives of the ECI, the penultimate round of counting will not be stopped for EVM. He gave in detail on what conditions the postal ballots can be rejected.

“A total of 478 complaints were received through c-VIGIL out of which 259 were valid. Till May 22, a total of 7,78,03,105 cash, 7144.22 litres of liquor costing Rs 12,93,588 and other materials worth Rs 85,01,269 were seized,” he said.

He said Election Commission, New Delhi resolved 55 complaints out of 99 it received.  Transfer related 295 complaints were received out of which 118 were taken up and 117 are pending.

There were 149 complaints of model code violation out of which 56 were resolved. Through NGS portal 1011 complaints were received out of which 966 have been resolved. There were 55 complaints of suspected paid news out of which 47 have been confirmed as paid news case.
