The inaugural session of the fifth Chhattisgarh Assembly concluded here on Thursday.
Speaker Charandas Mahant adjourned the Assembly Session till February 8. The Budget Session would be continued from February 8 to March 8, he informed.
Notably, the inaugural session marked the administration of oath to the newly elected members as well as election of new Speaker. The Assembly session had a total of five sittings and was concluded a day prior to scheduled sessions.
Pro-tem Speaker Rampukar Singh administered oath to the members on the very first day and on the same day and the new legislators elected their new Speaker.
Address of Chhattisgarh Governor Anandiben Patel was on January 7. Motion of Thanks to Governor’s address was moved by Congress legislator from Sitapur Amarjeet Bhagat.
Supplementary budget was tabled and passed during the session on January 8 while debate on Motion of Thanks to Governor’s address was discussed on January 9 and 10.
