City police pre-empts major crime, five nabbed

With the arrest of five persons of criminal past, the Delhi Police on Tuesday claimed to have pre-empted  a major crime in the national Capital. Police have also recovered two pistols, three bullets, a flick knife, two daggers and 26 wooden sticks from their possession.

The arrested accused were identified as, Rishi (27), Harish (25), Monu (24), Rahul Sharma (34) and Karan (21), all resident of Delhi. Police said that all the accused persons have been arrested first time.

According to Vijyanta Arya, the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), NorthWest district, a tip off was received that some miscreants with illegal arms were roaming for committing crime in the area of North West district.

"Police team swung into action and it was revealed that around 8-10 persons are going towards Karnal Bypass in two Maruti EECO cars with criminal intent and having arms. Team chased them and intercepted both the cars near Jahangir Puri," said the DCP.
