A body of a woman bank manager was found hanging in her house at Baramunda Housing Board Colony under the Khandagiri police station here on Thursday.
The deceased was identified as R Ranjita Rao. She was working as Senior Manager at the UCO Bank’s Ashok Nagar branch here and staying in a rented house at MIG-51 in the colony with her parents.
Police recovered the body and sent it for postmortem. The reason behind the death was yet to be ascertained.
“We had a conversation last evening at around 8.30 pm after she returned from office. Her body language was absolutely normal. I am shocked over her death,” said Ranjita’s father.
“She was mentally very strong but physically weak. Fifteen days back, she had fainted and some of her bank colleagues had admitted her to a hospital. The doctor had prescribed her some multi-vitamin tablets,” he added.
Rajita’s father also ruled out any work-related pressure for her taking the extreme step and said she was even ready to work in Jammu and Kashmir.
The Khandagiri police continued investigating into the incident.
