The classical dance of India Kathak was beautifully performed at Bharat Bhavan Antarang Hall, leaving the audience totally mesmerized. The dance was performed under an event dedicated to Kathak dance here on Sunday.

The renowned classical dancer V Anuradha Singh from Bhopal gave scintillating performances before the audience.

The event began with the mesmerizing performance by V Anuradha Singh. She started off with Shiv Vandana. She then performed Chalan which was followed by ‘ matra taal. In this performance, Singh displayed different matras of Kathak. Then her performance was followed with Tarana in Raga Hansdhwani.

The catch of the show was Karhak performance on ghazalas by renowned poets. The innocence of poetry was blened with the charisma of Kathak and a magical performance was created on stage.

She performed on ghazals like Baat Niklegi toh Phir, Kal Chaudhvi ki Raat, Ranjish Hi Sahi, Phir Sawan Rut Ki Pawan Chali, Aaj Jaane Ki Zidd Na Karo and more, leaving the audience mesmerised.

Anuradha hailing from Bhopal is noted Kathak dancer for her innovation and improvisation in traditional Kathak technique. Rhythmic understanding, ability to extemporize with speedy rhythms and preserving pure Kathak classical style are some of her qualities.

Experimenting with classical Sufi Kathak, she has evolved a refined, sophisticated style in pure classical form, based on fast speeds, swift turns, mind thrilling footwork, delicacy of movements and impressive expressions.

Anuradha is one of the well known dancers of solo classical Kathak dance. With enchanting stage presence she has earned acclamation for intense and sensitive dance presentations. She has performed solo Kathak internationally in addition to more than 45 prestigious Government organized festivals in India and has also given across the world.
