The BJP has alleged that Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has opted to fight from a second seat in western Odisha on the basis of a report of the State Intelligence that said he might face a defeat in his old Hinjili constituency due to voters’ disenchantment on many counts.
“The Director of the State Intelligence had on March 15 written to the Chief Minister’s Office and the Director General of Police mentioning that the CM might not win the Hinjili seat this time and suggesting names of four other seats for his win. On the basis this report, the CM has opted to fight from a seat in western Odisha,” said Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha president Tankadhar Tripathy at a Press meet here.
He said the four other seats named by the Intelligence were Rourkela, Bijepur, Balangir and Titilagarh.
Tripathy said people of Hinjili have been dissatisfied over distribution of Cyclone Titli compensation and KALIA assistance.
