On instruction of the Chief Minister Kamal Nath, three eye patients affected by the operation performed at Indore Eye Hospital are being sent for better treatment to Shankar Netralaya, Chennai by airplane on Monday morning. With each patient one attendant and one doctor are being sent.
Minister for Public Health Tulsiram Silawat accompanied by the Eye Specialist Dr Rajeev Raman reached Choithram Hospital to see the patients. Silawat spent more than 5 hours in the hospital and discussed arrangements of medical treatment with all the affected persons and their family members.
Minister Silawat directed the Dean Dr Jytoi Bindal of Indore Medical College to ensure eye patients’ treatment in her presence and care at the hospital. Silawat has assured the affected eye patients that their treatment has been started by Dr Raman. Operation of 4 affected persons is being performed by Dr Raman, he added.
Minister Silawat along with Commissioner and Collector Indore held a meeting with the members of the committee constituted to hold inquiry in this incident.
It was informed in the meeting that TS Hora, the District Programme Manager Blindness Prevention has been suspended as he was found prima facie negligent. Moreover, show cause notices have been served to CMHO Dhar Dr SK Saral, CMHO Indore Dr Praveen Jadiya and State Manager Prevention Dr Hemant Sinha.
