After launching the Mo Sarkar initiative on October 2, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Monday reviewed the progress of the programme and announced infrastructure development activities for hospitals in Malkangiri, Nabarangpur and Koraput districts.
For the Malkangiri District Headquarters Hospital (DHH), he announced construction of doctor accommodations and a transit home, a rest sheds for attendants of patients. He also said the hospital’s bed capacity would be increased to 200. Bus services from Motu to Malkangiri would be provided daily for the benefit to people visiting the hospital.
For the Koraput DHH, the Chief Minister stated its bed strength would be increased to 250. This apart, a new ward would be constructed besides the exiting hospital building. Staff quarters and a rest shed for attendants of patients would be built.
Two new ambulances fitted with lifesaving equipments would also be provided to the hospital.
