CM asks DCs to monitor MMKAY on daily basis

Friday, 23 August 2019 | PNS | Ranchi

Chief Minister Raghubar Das on Thursday asked Deputy Commissioners (DC) of all the 24 districts in Jharkhand to monitor the data entry under Mukhya Mantri Krishi Ashirwad Yojana (MMKAY) and Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi on daily basis. Addressing the DCs from CM Secretariat in Ranchi over videoconferencing, Das asked them to send updated reports on the two schemes to the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) in every three days so that he can personally monitor the developments.

“Implementation of schemes for farmers’ welfare is our main priority. All the DCs should monitor the works under the scheme every day and send updates to me on every third day. The cash support should be disbursed to all the beneficiaries and new beneficiaries should also be added,” Das said.

The Government rolled out the Mukhya Mantri Krishi Ashirwad Yojana (MMKAY) on August 10. Under the scheme, any farmer who owns up to five acres of land will get Rs 5,000 for each acre from the State Government. This benefit is over and above the benefits under Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme of the Centre. The latter assures annual cash support of Rs  6,000 to farmers who own less than five acres of land. The Government here has been on a mission to provide aides to farmers, who are staring at another drought-like situation. At least 14 of 24 districts here are undergoing drought assessment after scanty rainfall in parts of Jharkhand this monsoon.

Das said that the house warming of all the newly constructed houses under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) will be done after September 3 and local public representatives should participate in such events. Das also asked the DCs to make a list of freedom fighters and martyrs from their respective districts and name schools after them. “Jharkhand has given birth to several freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives for the country. Naming schools after them will instill patriotism in children,” said Das.

The Chief Minister asked all the DCs to ensure that benefits under Mukhyamantri Sukanya Yojana reached the family of beneficiaries as soon as a girl child is born. Unmarried girls who have attained an age of 18 years and passed class 12 should also be paid the promised amount of Rs 10,000, he added. Das asked the DCs to achieve the target of opening 100 Atal Clinics in urban areas by September 25 in order to provide easy access to health facilities to the underprivileged people of the cities here.
