CM Das urges people to reject dynastic politics

Thursday, 14 November 2019 | PNS | Ranchi

Chief Minister Raghubar Das on Wednesday said that people of Jharkhand have rejected family and dynastic politics in State.

Addressing an election rally in Palamu district, Das said the 2014 and 2019 general election results have indicated that a common man or a son of labourer can also reach at top post of country.

The Chief Minister said that after the creation of separate state, the Congress, RJD and Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) due to their self interest have stalled development progress in State.

But, in last five years the State Government focused on development. The CM urged the voters of Bhawanthpur to strengthen democracy asking them to exercise their franchise keeping State’s interest as priority.

The CM claimed that he is optimistic that lotus (election symbol of BJP) will blossom in the region this time. The Bhawanthpur Assembly constituency of Palamu region since the creation of state in 2000 has never elected any BJP legislator. The region considered as electoral bastion of Sahi family as the Assembly segment had been represented by Bhanu Pratap Shahi and his father Lal Hemendra Pratap Dehati.

However, this time the BJP is expecting to make inroads in the region as Shahi, who joined BJP last month announced to merge his party Navjawan Sangharsh Morcha in BJP. The Chief Minister on the occasion also highlighted the work carried out by Shahi and his father especially improvement of irrigation facility in the area.

The Chief Minister on the occasion also mentioned about the various irrigation projects initiated by Centre and State. He said, “The work on Rs 1152 crore Sone irrigation project is going on and in next two to three years the project will be completed. Once completed farmers from Garhwa and Palamu region will be benefitted.” Attacking JMM and Congress, Das said the Opposition parties’ main aim is to enjoy the fruits of development while on other hand BJP believes in empowerment of people.

The Chief Minister after addressing election rally in support of Sahi also participated in the nomination process of other BJP candidates for Chhatarpur, Panki, Daltonganj.  Das said, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi keeping farmer interest as priority initiated the work of Mandal Dam project through which farmers will get water for irrigation and drinking purpose.”  He also said that in last five years the government has set up five medical colleges including one at Palamu.

The CM said that prior to 2014, State Governments were marred with scam and controversies, but in last five years the State Government not a single scam charges. The CM on the occasion also highlighted the developmental works carried out region wise.

He said in Daltonganj new medical college and nursing college has been set up. Similarly, in Daltonganj assembly segment 252 km roads have been constructed along with cent per cent electrification work in Daltonganj area. He also said that under the Ujjwala scheme 52972 women have received free gas connection under the scheme. 7462 families have been linked with Ayushman Bharat Yojana.

The CM said that 25290 farmers have been provided with farmers insurance schemes among others. The nine constituencies in Palamu region will go to vote on November 30.
