Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat held a meeting with representatives of private higher educational institutions at the CM residence to discuss Bharat Bharati Utsav to be held to propagate the message of unity in diversity.
Addressing representatives of the institutions, Rawat said youngsters from across India are studying in higher education institutions in Uttarakhand.
He said, “If a Bharat Bharati festival is held at one place in the state every year, it will enable to students to get to know the cultural diversity of India. This will also enable the youngsters to communicate better with each other even as the event will spread of message of national unity. The attempt of the Uttarakhand government is to make the students feel their cultural wealth. We also want a message of unity from Uttarakhand to be sent to the whole nation.”
The CM added a cultural programme should be organised to provide a platform to students from various States studying in State. The Culture department has been made the nodal department for this purpose. He also stressed on the need for efforts by educational institutions to curb the tendency for substance abuse among youngsters.
