CM Office gets threat call of possible attack on Kejriwal

Tuesday, 22 January 2019 | Staff Reporter | NEW DELHI

Days after Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s office received an email threatening to kidnap his daughter another call was received at his official residence on Monday from an unidentified person informing the officials about threat of a possible attack on him.

The caller from Vikaspuri, a locality in west Delhi who did not identified him informed CM office that he heard a plan to attack Kejriwal. According to officials in CM’s camp office, the phone number could not be identified as the caller ID of the phone installed in office is lying defunct since May last year.

“Caller ID installed at the office’s landline telephone is not functional since May last year. Despite several reminders to the General Administration Department (GAD) of Delhi government it has not been fixed,” said the official.

A senior police official said they were informed about the call by Personal Security Officer (PSO) of the chief minister and efforts are underway to identify the caller.

“The call was received around 11.45 am on Monday. The caller told CM office staff that a man Bhola who runs a Bhola Tent House for last 20 years in Vikaspuri area is planning an attack on CM,” said the senior police official

“Police team is questioning Bhola and efforts are being made to identify the caller. So far it seems that it was hoax call. Further investigation is going on,” the senior police official added.

A couple of weeks ago, Kejriwal’s office received an email threatening to kidnap his daughter. Subsequently, the accused was arrested.
