CM pays homage to Home Guards

Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat along with mayors of Dehradun and Rishikesh, and senior officials of Uttarakhand Police Headquarters (PHQ) paid homage to the martyrs on the annual day for Home Guards and Civil Defence on Friday.

He reviewed the parade and congratulated Home Guards on the-occasion. During the programme organised at Nanurkheda in Dehradun, he announced a raise in allowance by Rs 50 per month for uniform washing and Rs 150 per month for nutritious food items.CM Rawat further said, “Home Guards are an integral part of the administration in maintaining peace inside the country’s boundaries. They also help during disasters, fire incidents in forest areas, and they keep maintaining law and order during religious and social programmes.

It is their hard work and consistency that helps in maintaining law and order situation in the State. A Home Guard never steps back from risking his life to perform his duty.”

He added, “This is a matter of immense pleasure that after the announcement to fill 1000 Home Guards posts in Uttarakhand, 761 applicants have completed their admission procedure while the process is underway to fill the remaining vacancies.”

It is pertinent to mention here that on annual celebration of this day, CM Rawat paid homage to the martyrs and awarded certificates and reward money to the Home Guards for their commendable service.

Along with CM, Dehradun Mayor Sunil Uniyal ‘Gama’, Rishikesh Mayor, Anita Mamgain, Home secretary Nitesh Jha, Director General (Law and Order) Ashok Kumar and Commandant General, Home Guards and Civil Defence Pushpal Jyoti attended the programme.
